Cont\u00e9m as nebulosas da cabe\u00e7a do cavalo (B33), Orion (M42) e Nebulosa da chama (NGC2024). Esta nebulosa assume a forma de um arco conc\u00eantrico (loop) centrado na nebulosa de Orion. Apesar de ser necess\u00e1rio recorrer a longas exposi\u00e7\u00f5es fotogr\u00e1ficas para observar a nebulosa \u00e9 poss\u00edvel distinguir a sua forma, ainda que muito difusa, a olho nu desde locais muito escuros (Bortle 1). Estudos recentes apontam que tenha tido origem na explos\u00e3o de uma supernova \u00e0 cerca de 2 milh\u00f5es de anos. Apesar de ter sido observada por astr\u00f3nomos anteriores a sua descoberta oficial \u00e9 atribu\u00edda a um dos pioneiros da astrofotografia, E.E.
